      Hi Michael !
It seems that Microsoft has closed its soapbox video hosting service completely and all these videos disappeared. You can try to post your question at DAX’s performance team blog, hope they will be able to resubmit the videos to more reliable hosting.

Hi, Does anyone have the documentation/ user guide for Trace Parser, I suppose to come with the installation location, bu I can’t find it there.
    Thanks

      Hi Vic,
The documentation, you are referring to, was included in some early beta versions of Trace Parser. It was pretty useless, just a basic 2-3 page description of main menu items (without explanation of the ways to analyze trace itself). The only way is to figure out ho it works, is to experiment with trace analysis yourself.

    Hi,

We have been using trace parser for months in AX 5.0\SQL 2008\Windows 2008 32 bit without any issues. We have moved all the ax instances to windows 2008 64 bit where it’s not generating the server side trace file using trace parser cockpit.
Tried generating the file through server configuration utility. It’s generating the file in configured log folder.

Is there any compatible issue with 64bit?

    Thanks and regards,
    Thiya.

      Hello Thiya
It is hard to diagnose problem remotely. But TraceParser uses .net remote registry classes to enable tracing on server from trace parser cockpit. Documentation on these classes, states that: “In order for a key to be opened remotely, both the server and client machines must be running the remote registry service, and have remote administration enabled.”. I guess, during update to 64-bit version of windows, someone has disabled remote registry and remote administration services on your AOS Server. To my knowledge, there are no issued with 64-bit version of AOS itself…

      Regards,
      Denis
